The island that broke with convention. W arrived on private Fesdu Island in 2006 with bold color and modern architecture, design-driven where the Maldives had stayed quiet and traditional.
The plan ran on an Above and Below idea, the life of the island and the reef read as one. All 77 overwater and beachfront villas opened with private pools, among the first in the region to set that standard.
